Ah, Manayunk, !!! So close to Philly that I think, technically, it is not even considered a suburb :-). Lovely place for a visit, if you are in the area or you just feel like spending some money at a nice pub but the river or just being a shopaholic for a day and supporting tiny local companies.
Went here to visit a friend and share a few laughs, sautéed in a bit of alcohol. Check out my impression of the place.
Now, doesn’t this feel like suburbs-meed-the-city?!
While I am waiting for my buddy… Look what I’ve discovered!!!!!
Oh the endless possibilities!!! Oh, the magical poetry I can write for hours on end…
Yep, this is the best I could come up with… “her taco head I’d package in love”… LOL
Summer love. Definitely I’d package her taco in summer love :-). True story!
I really freaking misshaping one of these… I need to move to a place with a back yard so I can fire me up a grill!
Nice her, with balconies, trees, etc. Spring is in the air :-)
All over the air, really :-)
Lots of hills here. Expect to run out of breath very quickly. That is if you’re out of shape—this is a great place to test how bad of a shape you’re really in ;-).
Feels like this place is a non-stop frat house party jungle joint.
Perhaps that is why parking lots are being overprotective…
Yes, yes, thanks.
Nice doors here. I have to remember to make a trip out here to photograph some doors.
Spring is in full swing. Awesome!
Where else can you get a pizza and a pop for just $5?!
And be welcomed by a red carpet while at it?!
Perhaps when you get out of your badass Mercedes… :-)
Many bridges here. If you’re into bridges, this is definitely a place to visit for a weekend.
Graffiti, though, is far less than desirable. Como, Manayunk, bring up your tagging game!
Oh, yeah, this is a great place to ride your bike, too.
Or treasure-hunt for ancient crumpling wooden things.
The Main Street is where it’s at. Definitely.
See what I mean about the bridges?
And the fire houses?
But, of course, there’s just gotta be a Starbucks right in the middle of all of this splendor :-).
Spring = food outside. Bon appetite :-)
Ha ha ha! Clever.
Roads used to be a bit better back in the day, methinks.
Many small cute stores here. Overpriced, of course, but nice to walk around.
Or get yourself a dress, why not?
Hilly streets are prepping for Spring.
Spring is pretty much here.
Perfect place to not just get a haircut but also ride your all-white bike.
Or walk your mug around, showing off to all who came to compliment you.
Let’s not forget the red Solo cups allover the place. Remember, this is a college party town.
Complete, with bars overhanging the river.
Nice bars, actually. Love it here.
Enough smoker here, I suppose, to merit a giant butt bucket :-). Butt bucket. LOL
And you even have a chance to run into a girl with insane-color eyes. Those are not contacts, … For real!
Typical college pub in a typical college party town. Reminds me of some many others like this I’ve been to…
Yep. More Solo cups.
And the source of the cups—ice-cream party!
Definitely Spring is here.
While I’m looking at this… This is a huge new business of e-cigs. It’s booming, I suppose, with so many ex-smokers switching to the electronic version… Are they any better? I don’t think so… But that’s just, like, my own opinion, man.
Told you it’s expensive here… You can get a used dress for JUST $15…
Nice town with plenty to explore.
Perhaps even on your bike with a cute basket…
Or just walk around and look at all these stores.
As long as you don’t bike or skateboard or skate. Sigh. And why not?!
Why can’t I skate if it’s OK to park your fucking car right on the sidewalk?!
Ah, nevermind. The Spring makes everything look and feel better :-)
Even the crappy hand-written signs. I think this is a form of a marketing ploy to make this fixer-upper *feel* cheaper than what is actually is.
Trash day is coming soon to a street near you.
So you should probably start collecting all these Solo cups, you know…
Dang, I want this house!
And this dog! :-)
Lovely place, right? Definitely try to visit Manayunk if you’re ever in the Philly area.
