I was traveling quite a bit lately and missed the beginning of Spring in Philly. Well, I cannot fix that but I can grab a camera and pretend these are the first days of Spring.
Now, why put this post in the “Travel” category? Well, if I was looking at these photos I would get a nice tour of South street festivals that happened last Saturday and a bit of the city and its inhabitants. The weather was gorgeous, beautifully sunny, reasonably warm, and not windy.
Kids are coloring.
Playing table tennis. I haven’t played it in ages!
People watching the… Dunk tank!
So, I posted the whole sequence just because, … well, because it was fun to watch this guy get dunked twice in 5 minutes. Should have recorded video but didn’t think of it at the moment.
Underwater fun! LOL
So, I suppose this event is called PlazaPalooza and is perhaps a monthly thing?
They have a band and everything!
Very nice and super-friendly couple but I lost his email address. If any of you know them, please email them these pics. I spent the rest of the day walking and must have dropped the piece of paper with his email somewhere :(
Lots of people out on a fun sunny afternoon :-)
City is green! Spring is finally here. It’s been here for a while already; I’m just now capturing it.
I think I’d love to live on just about any street here.
Yep, no need for a jacket anymore!! :-)
She didn’t get the message, I don’t think.
She did. I love Summer dresses on girls almost as much as mini-skirts.
People plant their flowers. I need to do the same, I’ll try to today.
This is a tangent but I do love cute graffiti like this.
Something we all should ponder:
Runners are all over the place. Time to get rid of that winter fat!!
And these people are stuck in traffic. Get out, park, and walk around!
Homeless and happy. They were kissing. How cute.
Very awesome graffiti! I really like this — makes the building so much more alive, don’t you think?
Yep, summer dresses…
Street fair of old junk, excuse me, antiques, over by the State Penitentiary.
AHA! Nicely done, Philly!
It’s been a long time since I’ve taken a bus. Good time, let me tell ya! It gets you places and I didn’t have to walk 30 blocks to meetup with my friends on South street. Now I’m walking from around 5th and South down to my place.
The creepy dude. I see him at many events. Same as me, he’s always with a camera, but always looking creepy. Is it a talent one needs to practice?
Met the owner of Willy Mammoth’s, Matt [center, blue shirt]. Very nice guy. Friendly and pleasant. I like that place, too. Haven’t been there in a while though.
Just an average couple, shopping for some jewels, why?
They got the message!
Everybody is happy! I like that.
See, laughter all-around.
These hipsters looks like street whores, no? Hmm. Great job, boys!
This is the correct way to double-fist!
Cops chillin’, causing no trouble, officer!
Lastly, met up with some friends over at Ten Stone. Good times.
Bottom line? Philly is beautiful and full of life (until the beach season starts, of course). Grab your camera and go outside!
