I love Philadelphia in the Spring. Actually, I’ve grown to love Philly over the last 12 years quite a bit—I know the city well and there is always something to do, especially in the early Spring when everyone is starting to wake up, dress down, and chill at all the local festivals and such. Just last week (as of the time of this post) I went to Passyunk Square for their crafts festival. Was fun and was definitely fun to take pics of the springy city as I was walking there from my house. Here is a sample of them for you.
Please note, I’m back to labeling photos “on top” of the photo as I think the story flows better this way. Please do let me know if you think labels below the photos make more sense.
Spring, clearly, is all over the place now. Lovely time of the year here in Philly and makes me love my neighborhoods even more.
Of course, there’s a lager cap somewhere in the bushes, right?
G*d, I fucking love, and I mean I LOVE Spring! Lovely, ain’t it?
Things are sprouting from everywhere, if you know what I mean.
A lovely bench to relax on and watch all the miniskirts go by :-)
Tulips are in bloom… Amazing!
Just amazing. I love Philly this time of the year. Most definitely love it!
All the trees, too, right?
The building here, filtered through the flowering trees are something to drool over, don’t you agree?
And the flower petals [is that a right word?] falling onto your camera, …
Must be nice to live right there.
A sad reminder of our reality and the city life is a pointer that drugs are for sale nearby…
But the flowerings take your mind of the mundane right-away.
So do the parent-less kids running around all over the place…
I had to stop the kid, ask her where her mother is… Apparently she was a few minutes behind her, carrying stuff…
Even the semi-abandoned gardens are freaking awesome!
And so are the trees here.
And the new street art. This has got to be new since I don’t recall ever seeing this and I walk this street quite often, when the weather is nice.
I just live it here, I think.
Even the tiny alleys between the buildings look good—Spring is here.
Walking around Philly is nice. In Spring this walk makes me think about things growing, being fertile, … Where was I?
Oh, the balloons :-)
And, of course, you have the view of the city’s skyline just about at all times.
Building art is pretty impressive her as well, methinks.
So are the Spring hangouts, setup by the local church. I have much respect for churches for keeping communities engaged.
You see why I like this photo, right? :-)
No comment, again :-)
Oh, and I had to take a pic of this Mini.
How can you possibly not LOVE this?
Of this… :-)
Of this… All I have to do is to look up as I am walking.
Of course, the worst-looking window garden has the nicest message to the neighbors. Sigh.
Oh, and the zombies… :-)
Sad but cute.
And sad but sad.
ACME :-) LOL @ sticker!
And at the abandoned toy.
And at the flowers in her hair. So cute!
Finally at the street fest where I was heading to.
Some things are definitely crowd-pleasers here.
Lovely couple, methinks.
And the dude. Love the look.
As I do the streets around.
Beers and shots, too.
The outdoor seating is, of course, overcrowded.
And I can see why.
The business women are out as well.
Scouting for the best-dressed men.
Or just chilling by the endless variations of street plants.
Some are driving their cars in-style.
Some enjoying the tunes.
Um… Enjoying the grooving… Yeah…
Or DJing. The DJ asked me to take his photo and this is the best pose he came up with.
She was taking a pic, too.
Oh, by the way, some questions of why I take photos result in random posing.
Or pizza-eating posing.
Or just a great spring moment.
A spring moment that you can pack into your trunk and drive away. Love it!
I love Spring in Philadelphia. Just adore it. This is the second best time in Philly [fall being my 110% favorite].
Love you all and hope to see you out’n’about.
