I visit the Assateague Island from time to time. The beach is typically clean there and the drive to get there is nice. The key feature, of course, are the horses who [sometimes] chill right on the beach. This time we didn’t get lucky-enough to see any, except at the very end and from a distance. Anyway, I suggest for you to visit this place if you have not already or to re-visit it.
There are many lakes on the drive-up to the island where you can stop, take a smoke break, and think about the wonders nature has to offer to us.
You can also look at the bug-infested flowers.
And ducks and such.
Just enjoy the views
And drive through New Jersey’s and MD’s one-lane roads.
Just remember to bring your own alcohol since they don’t really sell it here.
Hope for the horse-sightings as you head over to the water.
Or bird-sightings, whichever you prefer.
Remember, these dang horses kick and bite and steal food.
The beach is crowded but not too much. Oh, and you can always find a more secluded location, further away from the lifeguard stations.
A lot of typical South Jersey folks here with their GIRLS TOY
You can walk around here for a while, searching for horses.
I mean, they are definitely around here, somewhere…
Nope, don’t see any.
I see little crabs (or whatever this is), but no horses.
Just this fucking 72F clean ocean and nice sand; not much else.
Lovely use of old tires.
See the hoof prints?!
Great place to chill.
Great place to bring your camper and smoke some hash [sorry, smellovision is not installed in your browser just yet].
All-in-all, a great location for a relaxing day at the beach. Don’t forget sunscreen!
