Sacramento, California

I was here, yes I was. But I was here so-very-briefly that I cannot really judge this city’s character fully. However, the two hours I had to walk around are more than enough for me to take it in for the next time I might be here. Basically, I am beginning to see what people like in California—everyone is super-friendly and the city is full of hippies. There are not the same hippies from the movies about the sixties, no. These are the new kind, the kind that is likable and personable, smiling and gentle, and everything that the East coast is not. In the two hours that I’ve been here I got a free coffee and someone at the pub bought me shots just because, apparently, I was “awesome to talk to”. Can you imagine that here in Philadelphia; or in New York?!

Well, let’s take a look at what pics I had time to snap.

Lovely walks here.  Water shortage?  What water shortage?!

Ah, but of course there will be a vape shop right in the middle of everything :)

Right next to pretty awesome views.

I’m in the tourist area, just where I’ve asked the cabbie to drop me.

Yep, tourists…

But it’s gorgeous over here if you don’t look too much.

Even the trash cans are pretty dope.

So are the hiding monsters.

I love how they cover the holes in the old wood with asphalt.

And shoot some indian movies right there.

Next to something that the locals call The Golden Bridge.   And here I thought I was pretty far from that one…

Ah…  Nice.  Just splendid, right?

Next to Joe’s.  All hail the corporate America.

Check out the birds, yo!

I mean, look at their pattern there.  Half-a-foot apart, almost on the dot.  Nice.

Sacramento (29 of 47)

And the incoming traffic.

Sacramento (30 of 47)

And the water supply for the city.  Six.  SIX water regulation drops…

Sacramento (31 of 47)

I suppose they need all that water to feed the trees in the city.

Sacramento (32 of 47)

This is greener than Philly!!

Dope construction shot.  Something new is coming.

Sacramento (36 of 47)

Something old is still there.  Old old old, right in the center of the city, about a block or two from the city hall.

Sacramento (37 of 47)

And the trams here, with four cars… FOUR!

Sacramento (38 of 47)

And the nice alleys.  Oh-so-clean.

And the ladies are lovely.

Sacramento (41 of 47)

As are the men.

Sacramento (42 of 47)

And the families.

Sacramento (43 of 47)

Right at the Capitol and 10th.

Sacramento (44 of 47)

Right there.

Sacramento (45 of 47)

With all the trees, watered just enough to survive but barely-enough to thrive, clearly.

Sacramento (46 of 47)

Lovely here, right in the downtown.

At this point I had just 20 minutes until my check-in and had to depart, but I had a run-in which is a part of a different story…

I hope to return here soon and have more fun.

Toodles.
