New toy from Griffin

Oh, this is nice!

My girl and I both have iPods.  Now imagine if we had iPhones, too.

We’d have to kill eachother over who gets to use the charger first.  Also chargers all over the place ain’t pretty.

This toy seems to be all that we need.  Ebay out the now-useless chargers.

Cool!

So, I hear the new iPhone’s underway

June 9th, they all say.

The Telegraph published a short story of what they think the new toy would look/talk/walk like.

I have mixed feelings about this…  I’ve been a Microsoft supporter for quite some time and really I see no true reason to consider a switch.  Although, I’ve been quite annoyed quite a few times by the lack of EASE of access to the functionality that’s embedded into my phone (Mot Q 9C).

My phone’s quite advanced.  Really, one of the latest additions to the market when I got it a few months back.  Many megapixel camera, video everything, etc.  But all this is NOT easy to use.  I love iPhone’s smoothness and it’s ease of access to everything.

Although, for emails and texting a normal keyboard with push-down-keys is better than iPhone’s tiny on-screen keys.

Plus the Exchange connectivity…  But I heard Apple promised to fix that, right?

All-in-all I’m not as excited about the new toy as I hear others are.

Will wait and see.

A worthy rival to iPhone

So, Sony Ericsson announced the release of XPERIA X1 phone.

Go to that website, read some more news about this toy, or do whatever is it you do to research a new gadget.

As for me, I am going to start reading up on this.  I am sick of my Motorola Q and have been thinking about changing it to something else for months now (even though I’ve had it for less than a year).

We’ll see how things go, but so far this is the best alternative to iPhone that I have seen.

Windows mobile is somewhat important to me at the moment (ability to push to/from Exchange is a good thing) so X1 sounds like a great buy.

Another USB glamorous gadget

Yep, yet another one I found.

Priceless this thing is:

Philips teamed with glass designer Swarovski to create stylish USB thumb drives.

Swarovski crystal, ladies!!

Where did I see this?  Ok, here: “Gadget designers tap into female market” by the News-Leader.com.

They are addressing an interesting issue:

Women, you influence 40 percent of consumer electronics purchases, and nearly 100 percent of you say that style is important in your buying decisions.

Yep, women have become a major force in the purchase-decision-making process.  I would say it’s even higher than 40%.  Most of us guys buy things to [even if we don't admit it] impress ladies in one way or another.  One might even say that women influence 100% of purchases.  Well, 95%, since the other 5% of men are of non-traditional orientation.  But they are trying to BE women in a way so I suppose it’s back to 100%  :)

No matter, really.  I do like things that look good so I applaud today’s designers who seem to have recognized the fact that the way a gadget LOOKS might be even more important than the way it works.  Just look at Apple if you don’t believe me  :)

Smart USB flash drive + a cool design

These Russians…  They would come up with just about anything to sell, huh?  :)

Well, this cool new toy, the “flashbag” is a nifty design and, if it actually works, would make one heck of a gift!

the Flashbag

I supposed it actually inflates as it gets filled:

I wish I saw this kind of stuff more often!

Gadget.com

Pretty cool domain, if you ask me.  Want to read about some cool new gadgets?  Check out Gadget.com :)

I hope they’ll keep up with the pace, but for now I’m bookmarking this site.

Another awesome Reader

This one’s amazing!

The Readius(R) from Polymer Vision is a crazy-cool little toy.

Readius(R) from Polymer Vision

This thing can do everything!  Audio, E-books, RSS, etc.

Only problem though, it doesn’t appear that this thing is actually on sale yet anywhere.

Alas, I would have gotten in just for the bendable screen.

Pretty interesting!  I wonder where the screen technology will endup in the next few years.

Discover cool new stuff on… You’ll never guess… FCC

FCC

Gizmodo posted a very interesting article on ways to find new gadgets. “How To Discover Secret Gadgets Through the FCC” talk about just that.

The article gives you detailed information on everything you need to navigate FCC site and find just about the coolest new thing that you can brag to your friends about.  Very nifty if you ask me.

Some tips and tricks, for example:

Grantee Code
Every company has a three-character code under which all their filings appear. While knowing this code is not mandatory, it is an easier way to bring up search results. Here’s a quick list of codes for the hottest or most innovative companies:
• Apple – BCG
• Nokia – PYA
• Samsung – A3L
• Sony – AK8
• Sony Ericsson – PY7
• Nintendo – BKE
• LG – BEJ
• Microsoft – C3K

Well, go look for yourself.  And don’t forget to visit Gizmodo, they have lots of cool things like that.
