Oh, the endless scary horror of a hurricane!… Why does Philly always overblow everything? Last time, for Sandy, there was barely any water on the streets of Philly. The Pope visit was… just slightly overblown, don’t you think?… This time, for the Hurricane Joaquin, I was expecting to see a little more than what’s in the photos below. Yes, it was a bit chilly, sure. But were all the scary reports really necessary? Hurricane? Sure, I’ll take my camera and go for a walk to a street festival with my friends.
Oh, cool, there *is* some water here. Wow!
There’s a hurricane-proof squirrel, too.
And our “church“.
I like the city in the fall. Great season for colorful photos.
A little bit sad since we’ve missing all the leaves and such.
And people drive a bit differently in the fall, don’t you think? No? Neither do I.
Oh, this must be from the horrid winds.
The full milk carton—definitely a wind-related incident here.
And more water.
And some wet garbage, too.
Great advice! No, really, this is how I wrote my entire thesis (except the editing part).
Yep. Hurricane, the flooded lunch.
A fellow photographer.
South street fests are always full of children and friendly people who let the kids play on their drums, etc.
KID ZONE! :-)
With FREE BALLOONS!!
And FREE FACE PAINTING!!
And a line of kids wanting both.
Let’s not forget we’re in the hurricane zone here.
Here’s the proof: water on the streets.
And beer. What hurricane can go without a beer or a few?
Nice doggie. Sit.
Very awesome pizza place! This was my first time and I was very impressed. I highly recommend these guys.
It’s a food truck WITH A BRICK OVEN!!
The Pope is gone from Philly but the memory remains. When was that, again?
Kids are unafraid of either water or the hurricane winds and all.
Brilliant! This party had a key-on-a-string for their guests. Simply brilliant.
Oh, wait, I suppose the Pope is still around. Yay!
More water and mess. Oh, my.
All the leaves…
Nice sticker. Seriously, no joke. I think it’s a good reminder.
Fall in Tetris-town.
Of all the things I expect to find in the middle of a South-Philly street this one is towards the top.
And more destruction.
Two white Minis. The age difference is at least 10 years between them but they both look pretty awesome, still.
Alright. Time to hide from all this destruction at the house. Cheers and here’s to another overblown event.
