For those who take life too seriously…

1. Save the whales. Collect the whole set
2. A day without sunshine is, like, night
3. On the other hand, you have different fingers.
4. I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.
5. 42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

First, even owning a domain name like that is a… clever idea :)

Some good advice on daily habits that are, well, good to have: “24 Daily Habits“.

What’s more, I think, is that there is MORE to life than following the advice like this, but at least this person takes time to give advice and takes care in giving it. I think the points he brings up are extremely valid for all, unless you can give yourself BETTER advice.

Sometimes, actually at least once a week, I feel I need to take better care of myself, thus improving my life and the life of those around me. However, othertimes I just feel too selfish to do that.

It all depends on YOUR point of view, but Peter’s article is still worth a few minutes of your time to look it over.

Success in LIFE, not only career

It’s important, methinks, to be happy in life, not just moving ahead in your career…

This article goes into just a little more detail and offers some bullet-point advice.

A good short read and a nice way to waste 10 minutes online.

I need to take that “waste less time online” advice myself, methinks.

Don’t chase money, power, or status.
If they come to you, that’s fine. But most conventional ideas about success go wrong because they focus on outcomes instead of on the processes of living. Outcomes come around from time to time, but life itself—the process of living, acting, thinking, and being—happens all the time. No outcome is going to make a lousy, miserable process feel worthwhile.

Eva’s apple

Don’t remember where I found this, but this image is worth the 1000 words

And, no, not just because there are two nakeds, no. I also think this is a very nice idea.

I really wish sometimes I had more time for photography…

Princess Leia

Whatever you spell her name as.

This is pretty cool…

This is from, what, 1980s, or whenever starwars was released.

WOW :)

Men talk the same if not more than women

Well, I know!

Researchers recorded hundreds of students, capturing 30 seconds of sound for every 12-and-a-half minutes. The chattiest of the subjects, at nearly 47,000 words per day, were men.

NPR talks about men talking as much as women. Knowing me, I talk even more!! :)

I think this is quote an interesting story. Worth a read

Firefox 3 is closer? Nice!

So, firefox 3 is getting closer, huh?

Did I hear it right? Explorer 8? Nah! The haven’t even gotten 7 to work right! Or Vista for that matter.

Anyway, check out the following article by c|net — some info on firefox 3.

What am I worth per hour?

So, this is apparently a very useful website.

For example, I used to charge $75/hour for a while, but this was not a good idea.

My hourly rate, considering my expenses and all should be around $170/hour to make the profit I want/need and about $100/hour to break even.

My hourly rates

I think I did overestimate my business and personal expenses, but this rate calculator is very useful in getting a good idea of what you should be worth.

Useless and draining shit

So, this is a nice post on shit that makes my day go faster but…

You know, there’s a HUGE difference between having ALOT of things to do in the day and actually getting something done…

I am so frequently in the mode of getting nearly nothing done while working super-hard all day. I really think I need to concentrate on working “smarter” not “harder”…

But, don’t we all say that??

I mean I’ve been reading self-help tips on straightening your day out for a while and the more I do… well, you know the story :)

It’s amazing how we can while away our days by doing practically nothing, and feeling busy and stressed while doing it.

And then, at the end of the day, we are so tired we zone out in front of the television or Internet until we’re ready to drop off to sleep.
