I am the president of Nigeria

No, I’m not. You know, I still get this shit in my spam box… The emails from Nigeria and all that…

Just found this article from 2004 or-so…

Remember this:

Dear Sir/ Madam, I am fine today and how are you? I hope this letter will find you in the best of health. I am Prince Joe Eboh, the Chairman of the “Contract Award Committee”, of the “Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)”, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

NDDC was set up by the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha who died on 18th June 1998, to manage the excess revenue accruing from the sales of Petroleum and its allied products as a domestic increase in the petroleum products to develop the communities in the Niger Delta Oil producing areas. The estimated annual revenue for 1999 was $45 Billion US Dollars..

Just check this article “Turning the tables on Nigeria’s e-mail conmen“. Some good memories from ‘04 :) by BBC News.

Uncle Sam wants to help me

LOL

Could yours be the perfect invention to aid U.S. combat soldiers in Iraq? Have you created a vaccine that could possibly rid the world of one of its deadly diseases? Do you think that you could possibly be the next Bill Gates? Perhaps your ideas or inventions are not as grand as these, but you need a little assistance with funding your idea and making your dream a reality. If the answer is yes, then the federal government may be able to help you.

Basically, SanDiegoSource publishes an article reminding us all about www.sba.gov/sbir

Yeah, for real, it’s THAT EASY! All you have to do is wish it and you’ll have millions of federal funding. For real!

Yeah, RIGHT!

Here, have this for starters

um… a dollar?

Quotables

The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ‘Eureka!’ (I found it!) but ‘That’s funny …’
- Isaac Asimov

I write for the same reason I breathe - because if I didn’t, I would die.
- Isaac Asimov

Science can be introduced to children well or poorly. If poorly, children can be turned away from science; they can develop a lifelong antipathy; they will be in a far worse condition than if they had never been introduced to science at all.
- Isaac Asimov

This man is a genius, yet I’ve never read a single book of his. Perhaps I will give a whirl.

10 strangest deaths

I think I’ve seen this a few hundred times now on the net. It is, however, quite joyful to finally connect a name with a face :)

NewsVoid.com took the trouble of finding and pasting the photos. Here’s number 9 for example:

#9 Lee Seung Seop (2005)

28-year-old Korean video game addict collapsed in an Internet
cafe after playing Starcraft & World of Warcraft for almost 50 consecutive hours. About six weeks before his death, he had
been fired from his job for missing work to play computer games.

9 things about stock photo models

I love this guy!

Love it!

1. Attempts to portray sincere parent/child relationships always seem creepy.

There aren’t many things I don’t want to experience in life, but the sensual caress of a parent going through mid-life crisis is one of them.

Nuclear war?? Bring it on, my USB is ready!!

Why, oh why is Corsair making ultra-super rugged memory? For what insane purpose? I suppose if you’re BMX biking and covered in dirt and then walk by your laptop to check the weather for tomorrow? Just doesn’t seem to be there right image…

All Flash Survivors are:

  • Encased in extremely strong CNC-milled, anodized aircraft-grade aluminum.
  • Water resistant to 200M through the use of a EPDM waterproof seal.
  • Protected from vibration or impact damage through the use of a molded shock dampening collar.
  • Plug-&-Play with any USB 2.0 certified peripheral computer port
    (backward compatible with USB 1.1).

Good encryption, too. Hmm… But will it survive an alien invasion? Stay tuned…

Ginseng == decreased sexual potency

Overdosage can cause palpitations, insomnia, pruritus, heart pain, decreased sexual potency, vomiting, hemorrhagic diathesis, headache and epistaxis. Ingestion of large amounts can be fatal. Massive overdosages can cause hypertension.

LOL! Never knew this about Ginseng. Always thought it very nice, no matter the amount.

Really, think about it, just as your mother told you, too much of a good thing is a bad thing…

Digg this, biatch

For the moment, however, Digg need not be concerned by such matters as pornography. It’s most immediate worry now that it acquiesced to the demands of users who would rather see the site die than stay within the law is how to stay afloat and defend its decision against legal action from the AACS.

Digg, and other social networking sites are suffering from the copyright B.S. OOOOFFF. So, what’s the best solution? What’s a good solution? So far they are all surviving by simply ignoring the law. What happens when the law pushes them up against the wall?

Honestly, I have not, in any way, benefited from digg, so I give a shit not. But I heard some good stories, so there actually might be a reason for, you know, keeping these sites alive.

Perhaps there is something to it…

Anyway, check out this ITWire’s blog about Digg and the likes: “Social networking gets major challenge at Digg“.

The pride of our nation

I grew up with astronauts being the pride and joy of Russian empire. Well, I sorta viewed American ones in the same way.

Astronauts

What’s with them all these days though? Every other one is fucking the other one or cheating on whatever or whatever… What’s up??

Oh, my, do we have to read this?

Many NASA staffers knew or heard rumors that Lisa Nowak was having an affair with a fellow astronaut, long before allegations that she attacked a rival for William Oefelein’s affections, according to documents released Tuesday by the Florida state attorney’s office.

So, please, USAToday, tell me more about which astronaut fucks which one.

Thank you in advance.
