On my landlord

My landlord is “Michael Singer Real Estate”.

In one phrase, I fucking hate them.

The building I am in is a falling-apart piece of crap!

The view from the window is gorgeous and the area is pretty decent, but the building itself… Dang, I have dreams about busting into their office and smashing all the furniture there.

My rent is $1,325 per month. You’d think they would be nice to me and the rest of the people in this building…

My heat was out four times in the last 2 months. You know how much fun it is to have no heat when it’s 40 F outside? How about 20 F like last week? Without heat??!!!

Anyway, enough bitching! Here’s a fun video of my bathroom ceiling. It’s dripping water whenever upstairs neighbors take a shower… It would be OK with me, but they seem to take these showers late at night… I mean LATE! It’s like 2am and I can’t sleep because I am hearing the drops hitting the bucket… Oh, and the landlord tells me they can fix it, but I would have no access to the bathroom for 4 days to a week… GREAT! Where am I supposed to read then?? :)

D’s visit

So, Dave came to visit Philla for a minute.

T’was mad fun! I mean, what I remember of it was good! :)

How did I manage to work on friday I do not know. Showed up to work at 1pm though, which is a good start already :)

Details of the visit are not for this fragile audience though, I don’t think.

On last week

I feel this Dilbert cartoon represents well many of our lives — meetings, meetings, meetings, and more meetings.

I think I spend 1/2 of my time at work either in meetings, scheduling meetings, preparing to meetings, or emailing about the meetings. And then I come home and work on what we decided I need to work on at the meetings.

Saturdays and Sundays are reserved explicitly for meeting-free work. If I need to run an experiment, I do it on a Saturday :)

Last fridays's Dilbert

P.S. I just wanted to post this cartoon; otherwise, this post has no other purpose :)
